Thousand Ras - a planet inhabited by innumerable races (and not only human), many of which are almost completely different from those familiar with our world. Add to that the "guests" from outside the planet (including the newcomers from the Earth), this coming sometimes from completely different eras.
"inhuman" Gods - Ortix gods are beings who would be easier to classified as "bad." Fate of most mortals, is indifferent to them, they are vindictive, cruel, and envious, but they can bestow upon an ardent worshiper of great power. Moreover, it happened in the past, that the gods died, killed in the titanic clashes, and sometimes (though much less) fell victim to mortal beings.
Antiquity, Middle Ages not - if I had to compare the world Ortix to one of the eras of our history, that in no case would the Middle Ages. The campaign is much more similar to antiquity, when which has much more to do with mythology than the real world. Of course, this would add to the obvious influence of HP Lovecraft, but it's probably not surprising: D
